Firm Founder Steven Ellsworth Elected AAML -Arizona Chapter President

Firm founder, Steven M. Ellsworth, has been elected as President of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers – Arizona Chapter. The American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (“AAML”) was created in 1962 and currently has 1650 Fellows in 50 states. The purpose of the AAML is: “To provide leadership that promotes the highest degree of professionalism and excellence in the practice of family law.”

The Academy is comprised of some of the most skilled and knowledgeable family law attorneys in the country. To be considered for the fellowship, the attorney must devote at least 75% of their practice to family law matters. There is also a high bar of professionalism, competence, and integrity that is required in order for an attorney to become a Fellow of the AAML. Fellows are admitted through an application process that includes peer evaluation from other family law attorneys and must be in good standing with the state bar. An examination is also administered wherein the applicant must showcase their elite level of understanding and reasoning in complex family law cases.

Mr. Ellsworth has been a Fellow of the AAML since 2013 and is also a member of the International Academy of Family Lawyers (a distinction only 5 attorneys in Arizona have). Mr. Ellsworth’s term as chapter president will be for one year. Visit https://aaml.org/ for more information on the AAML.
