About Our Mediation Center

At Ellsworth Family Law, our team of seasoned family law specialists in Arizona believes that divorce doesn’t have to be a battle. With years of experience, our mediators are equipped with the knowledge and skills to navigate the complexities of family law. We focus on understanding and addressing the unique circumstances of each case, fostering an environment of respect and cooperation. Our goal is to help families reach amicable solutions that minimize stress and promote long-term well-being.

Our mediation attorneys specialize in Divorce and Post-Divorce Mediations. Our mediators are attorneys who have over 50 years of experience combined in family law and are frequently advocating in front of the family law judges. This familiarity with the current family law judges allows us to give you insight on how the judge assigned to your particular case may lean on certain issues. Our mediators are prepared to help you navigate through any contested issues and sticking points you and the other side are dealing with.

We mediate cases that are pre-divorce or post-divorce.

What is Mediation?

By Steven Ellsworth, Attorney / Mediator / Arbitrator

Mediation is an alternative dispute resolution process where divorcing spouses meet with a neutral third-party mediator to cooperatively discuss and negotiate all the terms of their separation—including asset division, spousal support, and child custody. Unlike a regular divorce that proceeds through litigation, where a judge makes the final, legally-binding decisions, mediation puts the power and control over the outcome directly into the hands of the couple. The advantages of choosing mediation are significant: it is typically more cost-effective and time-efficient, involves less emotional conflict, and allows for confidential, customized solutions that better fit your family’s unique needs than the standardized rulings of a court. At our center, you’ll have access to mediators with a wealth of industry experience to help you customize the best solutions possible to fit your family’s unique needs.

Mediation: Your Bridge to Resolution

Every session with us is meticulously guided toward achieving a complete resolution. If you involve your legal representative, they are encouraged to participate, offering insight and advice that bolsters the mediation’s outcomes.

Sculpting Agreements with Precision

Our expertise lies in understanding the vast spectrum of family disputes, from straightforward cases to those involving intricate details such as the division of a family-run business. As a divorce mediation lawyers, we classify proceedings as simple or complex to align our strategies effectively. This tailored approach guarantees that your mediation process receives the precise care and expertise it necessitates.

We are committed to transforming even the most tangled disputes into clear and actionable agreements. Our teams bring equilibrium, conduct mediation impartially, and dedicate themselves to closure.

Fostering Constructive Dialogue

Finding common ground is essential; a professional guiding that process is invaluable. Our mediators are trained to maintain a productive dialogue between parties, often shuttling back and forth with proposals, suggestions, and compromises that pave the way to a satisfying settlement.

Our mediators understand that the mediation environment significantly influences the outcome. We are committed to creating a setting that promotes transparency and fosters understanding. Providing separate spaces for each party during mediation ensures that every voice is heard and respected without confrontation.

Contrary to what you may have seen in movies, we employ a “caucus” format where the parties are in separate rooms (physically or virtually) while the mediator goes between the rooms and works individually with each party to reach agreements. This strategy and approach create the environment needed to foster constructive dialogue leading to compromise. Through years of experience, we have found this approach to yield the best results.
